Time to clean up.

Em and I were chatting and end up with Hugh Dancy, a British actor who usually play a charming role on love-story-themed-movies. We googled him right away and found out that his wife is Claire Danes. This comes up under Controversy on Danes' life in Wikipedia: In 1998, just after the filming of Brokedown Palace in Manila, she was quoted in Vogue as saying that Manila was a "ghastly and weird city."She further remarked in Premiere that the city "smelled of cockroaches, with rats all over and that there is no sewage system and the people do not have anything—no arms, no legs, no eyes."

People were ferocious of what she said and even declared as Persona Non Grata. I've been here in Manila for almost 6yrs. Commute is a part of my life here. And I can say that
one part of what she said is right. Manila overall doesn't smell rats and cockroaches, but there are places in fact, quite many. I tell you, I even know when to hold my breath so I won't smell the rotting garbage. Filthy streets and the worst stink of canals.
I hope the election candidates did well on removing their craps on Manila walls. And I hope they would prioritize cleaning up the city. And we, people, should start to know proper disposal of waste.

Picture here in the right is one of the many garbage you will see. I forgot to upload this one last night, just as I was on my way home and thinking about the stinking smell.

Unlucky but good day.

Friday, May 14th.

I am headed for a photoshoot with friends.
My friends Ren and Bam just arrived from Oman and needed me to bring the wedding souvernirs to Lancaster Hotel where they were staying. It's Friday, Mamang Pedicab can't get me a taxi outside the apartment so I decided to take the jeep since Gretel was already at the Shaw MRT station. I have a backpack, a body bag. and 2 plastic bags with the wedding souvenirs. I managed to bring all of them to where I was going except for one, my precious iPhone :(

I tried to call Gretel before I get in the train but I saw it approaching so I hurriedly put it in my pants right pocket. I am aware that there was like 10 people including me, waiting for other passengers to alight the train. I was the first person to enter the train but people were rushing to get in. As soon as I got in, I put the 2 plastic bags and checked my phone. It was gone. Shaw is the next station from Boni, I even checked the train If the phone just fell off but it was long gone. I waited for about 15-30mins near Shangri-la for Gretel hoping she'd pass by but didnt see her. I even asked to page her and was paged for about 4x. I thought Gretel was real impatient, got pissed off already. As I was about to leave I asked the guard if no one went looking for me and thank God she was on her way there.

She said she was really pissed off. But as soon as she learned someone took my cellphone, she gave way and she said she's gonna give me all the right to get mad. LOL.

Went over to Lancaster.
No internet. I have other friends, waiting for me.
Toti was already agitated, but felt sorry.
Dhanelle and Paula was patient enought to wait for me. They were still there at Betty Go when we got there in a cab.
They said they were calling me but the bastard who took my cellphone was cancelling the call.
My last problem was Margot, I couldnt get an internet connection or even Gretel's GPRS failed.

We were already at Mark's house where there was this notebook in a dollhouse.
There was a free wifi access from the mansions beside their house. Ayus!
Was able to make a wall post in Facebook looking for Margot, she didnt read the message.
Thanks to Angel for providing the number. Margot was patiently waiting in Gateway.
Meet-up is supposed to be 9am. I called past 12pm.

Summer Goddesses was a success.
Thanks for Mark and Tita for the venue, models Gretel Margot and Paula.
Photogs Dhanelle and Toti.

Good thing there was a photoshoot to divert my attention of my snitched cellphone.
I have a new one now sooo. I know I can no longer bring it back. I dont know how Tracer works cuz I dont have a Serial Number noted.

The after party was hilarious I got drunk with Cuervo.
Thanks for making it a good day super friends!

Anawangin: Second time around

My summer began early on the 2nd week of January with Jay's family. But this is the first outing I had with friends.

My G53 Eng'g friends originally planned to go to Nagsasa Cove. No, can't do. We arrived late as in late in the afternoon un San Antonio. Sea waves are a little unpredictable if we decided to go in at 2pm.

We woke up as early as 4am even if we stayed up late. Took a shower and headed to the terminal.
There was too much of a crowd. I realized it was a long weekend and everyone's going to the beach! Line is piled up. We should've rented a van instead. We don't have a choice. I had to fall in line.
We left the house at 5am but we left Manila at 8am already. Crappy system you got Victory Liner. It was a like 2 years since the first time I went to Zambales, we're supposed to take the Manila-Iba destination but the first bus took off at 6am. They have released the tickets for about 4am already. I asked one Manong over the counter, he said it will only take 2hrs to Olongapo cuz the bus is taking the Subic something expressway. Ride went for 3hrs. Another 45mins to San Antonio. Went to buy food from the market and off we went for a tricycle ride for about 15mins to Brgy. Pundaquit.
Good thing we have a contact, Thanks to the boatman Bornok for the warm welcome and for taking care of us.

Anawangin was nearly fully booked when we arrived at around 4pm. It wasn't the same since I first came. There was way too many people camping with various kinds of tents. There was a new wooden bridge made which I honestly don't know its purpose since most of the people cross the lagoon having more fun wading in the water.

  • We had fun bringing along the cards playing 1,2,3 pass!
  • Cheered over silly but funny jokes.
  • Ate adobo, porkchop, laing and bicol express bottled but hell it tastes good.
  • Endured the hot weather even on night time.
  • Fun setting my baby Velkan's timer and taking group shots.
  • Heared "Nasan si Verns?" and someone will answer where she is over and over again.
  • Few shots of Fundador
  • Passed out
  • Wake up feeling the cold air.
  • Noodles breakfast with the famous Baker's Plaza asado pandesal and bacon and cheese bread.
  • And seeing the breath-taking Capones Island.
