Long Exposure Test I

I've been wanting to do this for a long time but these three photos are the best ones I came up with. You might find the time stamps weird, I am using a wired remote manually through my iPhone's timer. I adjusted the appearance slightly by using curves and sharpen on Photoshop.

Nikon D600 | Tokina 11-16mm DX- no budget for upgrade so this should do for now.
Hoya HMC ND400 | Phottix Wired Remote XS

More practice to come. Critiques are appreciated.

Minion Hype part III

The demands here were crazy like it was in the Philippines. I've seen some outraged customer on McDonald's Facebook websites about the complaints but what can we do?

Joan was able to fall in line amongst avid fans and was successful to retrieve three of the Minions together with its Happy Meals. Stuart Blabber Grabber which is a one-eye minion, Tim Giggle Grabber and a duplicate! Jerry Breakdancing.

That was the last three of the three batches released here. We're saying goodbye to the freebie minions. I hope Monsters-U is up!

I think Chomper misses Stuart Lightup Grabber, he's showing symptoms of a mild dementia. He's been eating his hair the whole day.

Lotus biscuits

Let me share one of my now favorite food. They call it coffee biscuits. Caramelized. I discovered about it because of the hype going on Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie Butter. I have long wanted a taste of the famous cookie butter unluckily, the sellers are only in the Philippines. I however found one seller in Singapore but the stocks are coming out in August. So, I decided to purchase one in the Philippines which is already in stock.

If you're in the Philippines and interested, check it out: The Good Stuff PH on facebook. I am not affiliated with the seller. I bought 2 bottles of TJ's online delivered to a PH address, the regular and the crunchy but I have yet to savor if the mouthful news are true.

I have been drinking coffee a lot unlike before, I only drink one cup or two during my night shifts. Now, I have been drinking double even on my day shifts. Courtesy of my hubby, Organo Gold Mocha which is also my favorite coffee. Now, this is where I am affiliated. Click on the link, you can order online. Will be featuring the coffee on my up coming posts.

Anyway, going back to the biscuit. Biscuits dipped in coffee are traditional practice since God knows when. I highly recommend for you to try it out because it simply tastes heaven. Truly a perfect match for your coffee. This biscuit has a taste of freshly baked and crunchy. Dark sweet flavor, comes in 3 different packaging at the grocery store but I always buy the two pockets. One pocket consist of 8 smaller packs of 2 biscuits for only S$1.95.

Kiss-ass is ≠ to kick-ass

It's not wrong to say or do something nice to people once in a while. In fact, maybe we should even practice it everyday to sometime forget you are currently sinked in a hell hole. Needless to say, everyone must be doing it because that's what they really feel. Not because that's the impression they want to deliver nor with an intent of getting a credit of something you should've done without something in return.

I have seen people like this.

At work.
As the saying goes: "Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don't strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt".

1. These type of people won't even bother to say sorry when he/she interrupts you while you were saying something.
2. Will probably disagree on your ideas and suggestions. Will probably reject all of it. Later on ending up claiming your ideas as their own
This will hit your ego and bring shame but here's a surprise! He/she doesn't care.
3. And lastly, this one man, will try to do all the task intended for a team.

At school.
1. Befriends everyone [insert evil smile here]. Will try to give everyone a hug and shows he/she cares.
2. Will probably bring food for everyone to enjoy. Share his/her toys and things with you, and everything else that interests you but you will never know what the the price in return is until he/she asks you.
3. Of course, who could've forgotten teacher's pet! I need not to say how he/she got that name, do I?

In the crowd.
You would effortlylessly look for him because he/she is always the star of all season. He/she will definitely be speaking proudly in front of a crowd. Mumbling stupidity and nonsense.

Celebrity fights so does the fans.
Following some of the small and big screen celebrities is one of my guilty pleasures, having been able to read their posts. Having fans comes haters. You will be delighted to read the comments of such. In fact, you will find yourself more entertained by these comments from the original article you intended to read about the celebrity. Sabagay, kanya-kayang trip naman yan. They would even ask too many questions even if they know there wouldn't be an answer. I just don't see the point of not taking it down a notch. Fans will always say something nice and try to defend their idols. Sometimes, I would laugh so hard of something in the context of a very stupid thing to say. One would just carelessly blurt out insults in a surprisingly 3 paragraphs. Lagi siguro tong pasado sa essay writing nung High School.
There's a big percentage of people who doesn't have a job, but you can see there's a large number of people being online everyday. Some would even cash out their budget for the day to the internet cafe for an all day surfing. The fun of lurking around the webbies everyday. My point is, gumagastos ka sa idolo mong hindi ka man lang kilala. You're not even paid to defend them. What a waste.

Just an observation: Ngayon alam ko na mas mabuti nang maging bibo habang bata kesa sa matanda. It's just sometimes, these kinds of people sucks my day. So I hope everyone a safe day and be cautious.

Suggestion nga ng British government, ganito na lang daw ang peg:

Minions Part II

I am happy that the Happy Meals Minion toys are now in McDonald's Singapore. I thought they will be forever giving out Hello Kitties.

On its first batch I was lucky enough to get Tim Giggling and Tom Googly Eyes Grabber. There's only three characters per batch unlike in the Philippines, you can purchase any of the nine whichever character is available. It was Dave on the third row so I didn't want a duplicate.

Just this morning, McDonald's Bishan released Happy Meals at 11am and we went there past 12. Not quite a line but we were thankful to get another 2 of the evil minions, Noisemaker and Chomper.

Only three more left!

Quiapo Church, Philippines

Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene. The church is famous for many Filipinos who are devotees of the Black Nazarene. The basilica conduct a yearly Traslacion where procession is held. Even famous people like celebrities and politicians are strong devotees of the Nazareno.

Straight from Recto we decided to say a little pray before claiming the lens and flash I had serviced. It was a nice Monday morning. The sun wasn't emitting too much heat but the sky was resonating as blue as it gets.

I was lucky enough to get a couple of photos until someone tried to displace his hand inside my view finder.

I came from the right side entrance of the church so I didn't see the No Photograph sign at the main entrance. I went out as we were done with the pray. As I was outside I asked the man and gave him a thumbs up asking him if it was okay to take photos outside and he nodded with a go.

Metaldisc, Cartimar Philippines

We have long been suki of this store. One of my husband's favorite is metal band shirts. Almost all his shirts are metalband's and I could only name a few on the branded/non-branded ones. Although we tried buying from an International store, JSR direct last time. Obviously, it did cost more, with its shipping fee and we get almost the same quality of the cloth lalo na sa dating metaldisc's original shirts na ginagamit nila noon. Today, its still a good quality but a little silky for me. It depends on the local brand they used on your preferred band. The metaldisc now no longer have those brand sewn labels.

So we're already in Hidalgo we decided the next stop to Recto. We took a short walk and rode a jeep. Wala si Ate, the mestiza owner of the shop that we never got to know the name but we saw twice with her husband for Arch Enemy and Decapitated gig (i think?).

You are not gonna miss the store, once you go in its probably the second shop on your right located inside the Cartimar complex. Inline with Nocturnal. Okay na kahit wala si Ate, we bought 2 shirts. Shirts ranges about Php 300-350.

They also sell, non-metal bands such as rock and punk designs. As well as a good range of rock to black metal albums that probably ranges from 800-1200php.

The neo-colored ones must be cheaper. I could still vividly remember there wasn't any neo-colored shirt the last time I got there. Who am I to complain? I'm not the owner. I'm sure other people dig those kinds of shirts. I just hate it. Just saying.

Uno's riding a bike!

I think I made a short poem out of these photos.

One hot weather night.

Uno's dad got him a new bike.
Little Uno learns to ride a bike.
He stopped for a smile.
And stopped for a giggle.

One last stop he made that night.
A poop only meant for Dad!

Hidalgo, Quiapo Philippines

My husband and I, started the day by going to Hidalgo. This is a popular street for photographers in the Philippines where photo/video equipments are being sold in a gray market and genuine products. Yes, they sell it at lower cost but No, its not illegal in anyway. It is just the product minus the hustle bustle of proper documentation that goes through tedious channels. I have not had any experience of a faulty wiring nor body defects since two of my previous camera, Nikon D40x and D90 are new and in perfect condition when I bought it. And frankly, the only difference I can tell is I only get a year warranty from gray market whilst the genuine gets two. With my D90 as far as I can remember, it was purchased August of 2009. It has not yet retire and my Dad is still using it right now.

I needed to go since, this is the only place I know where I can have my lenses cleaned. My Tamron 90mm had a fungus and Mang Rino was successful in getting rid of it. It has not yet appeared on my photos but since I have time last week, I know I had to go. The fungus was gone in 2 hours. It was spotless! Together with the SB-600 flash that wasn't syncing, he also fixed it. The flash was kept in a dry box with its pouch and just as I realized I wasn't using it for a very long time since I had an issue.

Sample boring photos I took after the cleaning.

I have had his service about 4 years ago on my old lens. Here's Mang Rino's business card if you want a service to your babies. He is pretty experienced, had a small chat that he previously worked with Nikon and Canon. But I'll leave it up for you to ask him yourself why he's no longer there. I'm sure he's not gonna have a second thought telling you why.

We tried to look for a diffuser for the flash but I am surprised to know not a single one is available. I've checked with 5 stores. My baby is waaay outdated I think. Nevermind. I don't care. I can't upgrade. ☹

Monday was a long day.

Two more stories coming up!

Minion Hype

Photo from
Yes, I have joined my comrades on the minions hype!
Unfortunately, Happy Meal was always out of stock so we were only able to get a hold of two.

Jerry Breakdancing
Dave - Gadget Grabber

Where have all the minions gone? (╥﹏╥)
People in Manila has gone crazy over minions. These cuties are available in a cheap grab from McDonald's. The staffs said they will re-stock next week. Hopefully, there will be enough supplies of the collectibles so I can still have the rest including the villain minions.

Capiz, Part II - Sa Dampasigan

DSC_0790 DSC_0772

The place didn't get its name as the seafood capital for nothing. Dampa here is a real dampa, cozy hut along the dampasigan (sea). There were a couple of restaurants lined up in its shore. Although the sand is black, the locals are proud of its fine sand and unpolluted water. And in front of the dampa restaurants are table where fresh seafoods are laid, customer just have to choose which one they like and how they prefer the cooking.

Since its in the province, the price is cheaper than in Libis or Macapagal, Manila. But the taste, is way more authentic than the commercial. It means, your tongue could taste the freshness of every fish, squids and vegetable you put into your mouth. It does tell a huge difference even if I'm not a master chef.

Forgive me for getting such crappy and fractional photos, I didn't even get a photo of the fresh seafood, this was taken a few years back.

We enjoyed another presumptuous lunch as my bare wipes up and down on a banana leaf while sitting on an old bamboo made table and chair with a nice view of the ocean.

After having lunch, we saw fishermen holding up the nets near the shore, they seemed to be properly setting the nets before work load gets heavy. I've lived my elementary summer days at our grandparents house in Camarines Sur, the fishermen starts working as early as late afternoon. The bangka (boat) leaves the shore as soon as it gets dark and there they catch fishes in the mid sea. I think not all fishermen works on a graveyard shift, eh? I see fishermen set their nets, some uses their DIY fishing gear in a water level not so far from the shore.
